You can improve the battery life of your windows phone by adjusting some of the inbuilt settings.
We have mentioned 20 Useful Tips to save your battery. This involves turning
off some services and features but if you actually use one keep them enabled.
Step 1:- Turn On Battery Saver
The very easy way is to turn on the
Battery saver. You will find this option under Settings.
"Your phone can turn off some
services while in standby to help preserve battery life"
"When battery saver is turned on, you
will receive calls and texts, but apps only run when you open them and email
must be synced manually."
Step 2 :-Reduce the Time before the screen turns off
You can configure your screen to be timed out after 30 seconds of inactivity .
This helps save battery and also prevents your phone from turning on by
accident when you put it away.You can fetch this from Settings - Lock Screen
3) Lower the Brightness Settings
Decrease the Screen brightness to low after disabling the auto brightness
option under the brightness settings
4 ) Use a dark Background theme
An amoled screen turns pixels off to show black -- it will consume increasingly
less power the darker the displayed content is.Use dark background for all the apps if possible
Tap settings - Theme - background - then tap Dark
5) Disable Backup option in the backup
settings
If you backup your phone manually it would be less of a drain on your battery.Disable every backup option when you are ready to backup your data , re-enable
those option.
6) Disable Background apps & Tasks
All the apps you find here, have the permission to run in the background.Some apps may run in the background unnecessarily. it would be good to turn
them off.
Go to the settings - Swipe to Applications - tap background tasks, Tap the
application you want to block and tap block
7) Turn Off Wifi, Bluetooth , NFC, Internet Sharing, location, and Data
connection if they are not in use
8) Stop Scanning for new Wifi Networks
If you have already added your Wifi Network at your home or office then it
would be more battery efficient to stop the phone from searching the new
networks in the background
Go to Settings - wifi - advanced then uncheck the below two options
1.Notify me when new networks are available
2.Send information about Wifi connections to help discover nearby wifi
9) Close apps when you are not using
If you have the latest update you can close app by pressing and holding the
back button and then clicking the X's on the upper right corner of the apps you
want to close.
10 ) Turn on Airplane Mode
If you are not actively using your phone to make or receive calls or texts then
it would be more battery efficient to turn on the Airplane mode.
When you are in the place where the network is very low it is recommended to
turn the airplane mode on as searching for new network consumes more battery.
11) Double tap to wake up
Double tap to wake up is another cool feature to have on Lumia devices, but you
can turn this off to save battery life
12) Switch off the Vibration
You can also switch off the vibration of windows Phone Keys ( Back, Home and
Search ) to save your battery life !
Go to Settings > Touch > Windows Phone Keys Vibrate > Slide to Turn Off

13) Turn off unnecessary sounds
Switch off those sounds you don't always need .
Turn off the sounds for Key press, lock and unlock and Camera Shutter
Go to Settings > ringtones + sounds > You can Turn off the sounds for Key press, Lock And Unlock, Camera Shutter and All other Notifications

14) Disconnect Xbox Live
You can increase your battery life by disconnecting Xbox Live Service
15) Disconnect Xbox Music
If you don't use Xbox Music, you can disconnect from the service. Go to settings
- swipe to applications - Music+Videos , then turn off the below two option
1.Connect with Xbox Music
2.Xbox Music Cloud Collection
16) Glance Screen
Glance Screen allows you to see the clock and latest notification when your
phone switches to Standby. You can
choose this to turn off, but if you are adamant you need this feature switched
on then we'd suggest setting it to Peek mode.

17) Disable automatic Download Updates
Go to settings > Phone update > Uncheck - Automatic download if my data
settings allow it
18) Turn Off Photo Upload if you don't use that feature
Go To Photos > Settings > Turn off Auto Upload Feature
19) Sign off from the Messaging Hub
Sign off from chat if you don't use Messenger and Facebook chat from the
messaging Hub
20) Switch off Email
If you have added email accounts that don't need to be checked frequently then
you can reduce the frequency your phone checks for new email to 30 minutes,
hourly or even Manually
Go to Email Box > Settings > Tap Sync Settings > there you can change the frequency of Downloading new Content
