Meet Cortana : Your Very Own Personal Assistant

Microsoft officially unveiled Cortana at the Build Developer Conference on Wednesday.

"Cortana is powered by Bing. She gets to know you by learning your interests over time. She looks out for you, providing proactive, useful recommendations. And Cortana keeps you closer to the people and things you care about most, by keeping track of all that matters."

Coratna is a new Windows Phone personal digital assistant that replaced the previous Bing Search Funtionality.It will bring the latest news and show the weather based on your personal preferences and location.

"We think Cortana is the most personal digital assistant," Belfiore said.

When you travel to certain places frequently, Cortana will keep track. If you allow Cortana to access your email account, her functionality will increase even further, she will track your flights and meetings as well.

In Cortan's Notebook, you can customize your assistant to your liking, letting her know what your intrests are .You can setup Inner Circle - a group of your most important contacts.

Coratna will also integrate with third Party apps, a very unique feature of Windows Phone.

Cortana will be released first as a beta in the US, and the service will reach the UK and China shortly after the full launch.
